Bubble Survivors
In Texas Hold ‘Em poker online tournaments, every player wants to make it into the money, and the bigger the better. As the money bubble approaches, it is logical for many players to tighten up to survive the bubble cut so they make it to the prize money.
Typically, the players who adapt the tight bubble survival mode are those with middle-of-the-pack chip stacks. They can withstand paying a few rounds of blinds without betting off any chips in anticipation of other poker online players getting knocked out to finally burst the bubble. Basically they are almost going to fold every single hand they get, blinding their way through the bubble. The one drawback to this strategy is that your chip stack is eroded by the blinds, and you enter the final stage of the tournament short-stacked.
If you do choose to go the tight survival route, then you must adhere to your conviction and play extremely tight. You cannot call any bets or raises with marginal hands, like suited connectors.
As the bubble approaches, be especially observant of your poker opponents to identify if they are in survival mode as well. If that’s the case, then if you do get some monster pocket cards, like pocket faces, you should take the risk and raise to build your chip stack.
